The Professional Photographers of America International Print Competition 2006 : I'm so pleased- well, actually simply shocked and delighted- to have Stampede! be honored at the 2006 Professional Photographer's Internatonal Merit Print Competition! Stampede! even made it to the Loan Collection which is the best of the best of the competition. Now Stampede! will travel the world in the Loan Gallery shows over the coming year and will be printed in the annual Loan Collection Book. The prints of this image are for personal use only and any duplication or replication of them is prohibited by copyright law, unless accompanied by a written agreement with the photographer.

International Color Awards 2006 : I am so delighted and honored to have entered the first annual International Color Awards color photography contest and won the Honor of Distinction Award in the category of architecture. The ICA, "Thousands of images were received from over fifty two countries. The nominated photographers were selected by a who's who Judging Panel of the most esteemed creative professionals in art and photography from National Geographic Channel in Washington DC to Vogue and the Fine Art Society in London. The Panel reviewed submitted images online over a six week period and gave prizes in twenty two categories to photographers of twenty nine nationalities." Here is the url: http://tinyurl.com/pkc9o

PPC 2006 Merit Print winners : 1-17-06 was the Professional Photographers of California Merit Print Competition. This is my second competition with the PPC. Of three entries, two received Merit Print Awards. I learned a lot about what makes a merit print, from the fundamental capture, to the quality of the printing presented under very bright spotlights, that make the photograph jump right out at you when the blacks are very black, and the highlights pop but are not blown out.

Western States PPA 2006 : Stampede! Proudly, March 2006, came through at the Professional Photographers of America Western States Print Competition, another Merit Print award for the sheep :-) This image looks a bit dark, that is because the print is judged under very intense, white lights.
